Assistant Retail Manager
Profile:
The job holder will have a proven track record in a premium brand, retail or food environment. A keen interest in food as well as a natural flair for customer service is vital for this position

Role:
The Assistant Manager is responsible for the co-ordination of day to day operations of the shop as well as ensuring all retail activities are conducted in a customer focused way.
To ensure excellence in service and food presentation and quality and so creating a memorable 'shopping experience for the customer at all times.
Reporting:
The incumbent will report on a day to day basis to The Retail Manager
Responsibilities:
- To ensure a full range of product is available to customers during all opening hours.
- To co-ordinate with Bray and Temple Hill to ensure correct levels of product and Customer Orders are received on a timely basis.
- To merchandise all product in a way that is in keeping with the theme of The Butler's Pantry
- Be aware of an introduce new products which compliment The Butler's Pantry range
- To co-ordinate in store marketing and promotion activities as per the annual marketing plan.
- To ensure that all HACCP procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times (e.g. safe food handling, hygiene, temperature control, product rotation, cleaning schedule etc.)
- To ensure the appearance of the shop is to The Butler's Pantry standard in terms of signage, internal and external cleanliness maintenance etc.
- To ensure control and security of cash on a daily basis
- To supervise all staff in a positive way to ensure high levels of motivation, staff satisfaction and retention.
- To co-ordinate all initial and follow up training with staff.
- To conduct routine daily and weekly administration functions e.g. cash administration, staff schedules, sales figures, waste control, customer feedback etc.
- To assume the responsibilities of the Shop Manager in their absence.

Baker
Role:
This position will best suit a Baker with a passion and experience in making artisan breads with the finest of fresh ingredients.
All breads in The Butler's Pantry are made by hand using only natural ingredients and to the very highest of standards in taste, consistency and best practice.
The role of the Baker is to prepare all bread and bakery products and to participate in ongoing development of new products.
Reporting:
The incumbent will report directly to the Head Baker
Location:
This position is located in our kitchens in Bray
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this position are:
- To prepare bread and bakery products to the standard of The Butler's Pantry
- To participate in an ongoing way in the development of new products and enhancement of all current product range
- To plan quantities and preparation in advance to ensure sufficient and timely deliveries to all shops and outlets
- To control the use of ingredients, minimise waste of ingredients and finished products and to maintain the food cost at the agreed level.
- To comply with all HACCP and hygiene requirements and so ensure good standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
- To complete daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities and assist the Kitchen Porter in maintaining good standards of cleanliness
- To ensure all ingredients and finished product are correctly rotated and labelled
- To complete all daily paperwork and participate in the routine reviews of these records and results. (e.g. Daily sheets, Orders, waste records, food cost, HACCP records etc.)

Chef de Partie

Purpose:
The purpose of this Job specification is to outline the role and responsibilities of the position of Chef de Partie with The Butler's Pantry
Role:
The role of the Chef de Partie is to prepare and cook main menu items for The Butler's Pantry shops. This role requires real attention to detail and a very high quality of cooking and consistency of same The role will also involve trial and development of new products and cooking techniques.
Reporting:
The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Chef
Responsibilities
- The key responsibilities of this position are:
- To prepare and cook starters, main courses and related items to the standard of The Butler's Pantry
- To participate in a pro active way in the ongoing development of new products
- To ensure all menu items are prepared on time and in sufficient quantities to ensure sufficient and timely deliveries to all shops and outlets
- To maintain flexibility in preparation to ensure customer 'special' orders can be accommodated
- To control the use of ingredients, minimise waste of ingredients and control yield of finished products.
- To comply with all HACCP and hygiene requirements and so ensure good standards of hygiene and food safety at all times. To ensure all ingredients and food items are correctly rotated and labelled
- To work with the kitchen porter in ensuring good standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and maintenance are maintained
