We are currently looking for:

Retail Assistant: Mount Merrion Avenue (part time) & Greystones (full time, commence November)

Profile: The job holder must have previous retail experience. Applicants must be fluent in the English language and a passion for customer service and food is essential

Role: The Retail Assistant is required to promote and sell The Butler’s Pantry products in a customer focused way and ensuring excellence in service and a memorable and special ‘shopping experience’ for the customer at all times

Reporting: The incumbent will report directly to the Shop Manager

Responsibilities:

  1. To retail the full range of The Butler’s Pantry products and assist and advise Customers.
  2. Providing excellence in service to all customers and ensuring a memorable shopping experience for them in The Butler’s Pantry
  3. Ongoing merchandising, pricing and creative display of the food products
  4. Finishing of deserts and bread products to The Butler’s Pantry  standard.
  5. Receiving orders for all foods, deserts and breads and communicating effectively with the kitchen and bakery on all orders
  6. Remaining up to date with all new products and dishes that are on the Do lists and on display  
  7. Maintaining standards of cleanliness,  hygiene HACCP and housekeeping as per company standards
  8. Handling and balancing cash on a daily basis and completion of required paperwork
  9. Ensuring security of stock and conducting stock checks on a daily and weekly basis
  10. Carrying out routine housekeeping  and cleaning duties on a daily basis

Chef de Partie - Main Kitchen

Profile:
The job holder will have a proven track record in food preparation in a reputable kitchen environment. A keen interest in food as well as a natural flair for product development and excellence is vital for this position.
The job holder will demonstrate strong team and people skills.
The Butler’s Pantry continues to expand and develop so this position offers very good career and promotional opportunities.

Purpose: The purpose of this Job specification is to outline the role and responsibilities of the position of Chef de Partie with The Butler’s Pantry.

Role: The role of the Chef de Partie is to prepare and cook main menu items for The Butler’s Pantry shops. This role requires real attention to detail and  a very high quality of cooking and consistency of same  The role will also involve trial and development of new products and cooking techniques.

Reporting: The incumbent will report directly to the Executive Chef.

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position are:

  1. To prepare and cook starters, main courses and related items to the standard of The Butler’s Pantry
  2. To participate in a pro active way  in the ongoing development of new products
  3. To ensure all menu items are prepared on time and in sufficient quantities to ensure sufficient and timely deliveries to all shops and outlets
  4. To maintain flexibility in preparation to ensure customer ‘special’ orders can be accommodated
  5. To control the use of ingredients, minimise waste of ingredients and control yield of finished products.
  6. To comply with all HACCP and hygiene requirements and so ensure good standards of hygiene and food safety at all times. To ensure all ingredients and food items are correctly rotated and labelled
  7. To work with the kitchen porter in ensuring good standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and maintenance are maintained
  8. To assist when required with customer and retail inquiries and work closely with the packing and order allocation team
  9. To complete all daily paperwork and participate in the routine reviews of these records and results. (e.g. Daily Production sheets, Temperature records, waste records, HACCP records etc.)

Chef de Partie - Pastry Kitchen

Purpose: 
The purpose of this Job specification is to outline the role and responsibilities of the position of Pastry Chef with The Butler’s Pantry

Role:
The role of the Pastry Chef is to prepare pastry, desserts and bread products and to participate in development of new products and cooking techniques.

Reporting:
The incumbent will report directly to Head Pastry Chef, Janet Mc Kenna

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position are:

  1. To prepare pastry, dessert and bread products to the standard of The Butler’s Pantry
  2. To participate in an ongoing way in the development of new products and enhancement of all current dessert, pastry and bread products
  3. To plan quantities and preparation in advance to ensure sufficient and timely deliveries to all shops and outlets
  4. To maintain flexibility in planning to ensure customer ‘special’ orders can be accommodated
  5. To assist retail staff and customers with queries, menu planning etc. for bread, desserts and pastries when required
  6. To ensure supplies of ingredients and consumables are ordered routinely.
  7. To control the use of ingredients, minimise waste of ingredients and finished products and to maintain the food cost at the agreed level.
  8. To comply with all HACCP and hygiene requirements and so ensure good standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
  9. To work with the kitchen porter in ensuring good standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and maintenance are maintained
  10. To complete all daily paperwork and participate in the routine reviews of these records and results. (e.g. Daily sheets, Orders, waste records, food cost, HACCP records etc.)
