Retail Assistant (Part time)

Role:

This position will best suit an experienced  retail assistant with a keen understanding of fresh food.

The Retail Assistant is required to promote and sell The Butler’s Pantry products in a customer focused way and ensuring excellence in service and a memorable and special ‘shopping experience’ for the customer at all times.


Reporting:
The incumbent will report directly to the Shop Manager.

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position are:

  1. To achieve the sales targets for the branch and in so doing achieve growth customer count and average spend.
  2. To ensure a full range of product in line with Customer’s needs  is available to customers during all opening hours.
  3. To act as Customer liaison for your branch and ensure all Customer orders, queries and feedback are followed up and dealt with effectively.
  4. To merchandise all product in a way that is in keeping with the theme of The Butler’s Pantry and effectively promote all new products and ranges.
  5. To run in store marketing and promotion activities as per the annual marketing plan. And to achieve sales targets for these activities.
  6. To ensure that all HACCP procedures are implemented and adhered to at all times (e.g. safe food handling, hygiene, temperature control, product rotation, cleaning schedule etc.)
  7. To ensure control and security of cash on all shifts on a daily basis.
  8. To manage all staff in a positive way to ensure high levels of motivation, staff satisfaction and retention.
  9. To conduct routine daily and weekly administration functions e.g. cash administration, staff schedules, sales figures, waste control, customer feedback etc.

This role is a part time position with 3 – 4 shifts per week.

Commi Pastry Chef

Purpose: 
The purpose of this Job specification is to outline the role and responsibilities of the position of Commi Pastry Chef with The Butler’s Pantry.

Role:
The role of the Commi Pastry Chef is to  prepare  pastry, desserts and bread products and to participate in development of new products and cooking techniques.

Reporting:
The incumbent will report directly to the Head of Pastry and Bakery.

Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of this position are:

  1. To prepare pastry, dessert and biscuit products to the standard of The Butler’s Pantry
  2. To plan and prepare quantities and preparation in advance to ensure sufficient and timely deliveries to all shops and outlets
  3. To maintain flexibility in day to day activities to ensure customer ‘special’ orders can be accommodated
  4. To control the use of ingredients, minimise waste of ingredients and finished products and to maintain the food cost at the agreed level.
  5. To comply with all HACCP and hygiene requirements and so ensure good standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
  6. To work with the kitchen porter in ensuring good standards of cleanliness, housekeeping and maintenance are maintained
  7. To complete all daily paperwork and participate in the routine reviews of these records and results. (e.g. Daily sheets, Orders, waste records, food cost, HACCP records etc.)

Type of Position:
This role is initially a temporary 3 month contract working full time hours. However, there is an opportunity for this to become a full time role for the right candidate.
