As the winter months are coming to an end, the weather is changing and the days are getting longer. It’s time for us to transition our menu’s along with the seasons. At The Butler’s Pantry, we work with seasonal produce all year round to ensure optimum freshness and quality. When we think of spring/summer produce we think fresh, vibrant and colourful fruit and veg, lighter finishes and overall deliciousness! Last week we had in store tastings of our new selection of canapés available to order on our Spring/Summer Entertaining Menu 2020. These are the perfect addition to any summer garden party, be it for a Communion, Confirmation, Christening, Wedding Day Two or even a birthday bash!
Our new selection of savoury canapés are sure to please all of your guests. We have a wonderful range of vegetarian, pescatarian and meat canapés. First up, is our Red Pepper Risotto Croquette with Saffron Aioli. This canapé tastes best when heated in a preheated oven for 5 minutes to allow the breadcrumb coating to crisp up. We have a delicious Ardsallagh Goats Cheese Caramelised and Red Onion tartlet with Smoked Almond. This classic combination of flavours pair perfectly together, whilst looking extremely elegant. These are best served at room temperature. Next up, we have a Sundried Tomato Tartlet with a Tomato and Green Olive Tapenade and finished with a blistered Cherry Tomato. These are a burst of summer in your mouth! There is nothing like the flavour and colour tomatoes when they are in season so we simply had to include them in our range. These are vegetarian and best served at room temperature. Our Smoked Salmon and Goatsbridge Trout Tartlet with Dill Chantilly Cream are a real showstopper, they are incredibly light whilst still being so flavoursome! These should be served from the fridge because of the Chantilly topping. Our next savoury canapé option is a Basil Basket filled with Smoked Bacon and Pea Puree, finished with a Pea Shoot. These have a great variety of texture and flavour, with the saltiness of the bacon and the natural sweetness of pea coming through. These are best served at room temperature. Finally, we have our Ham Hock terrine on a Shortbread Sable with Pineapple Jelly. There’s a reason that ham and pineapple have stood the test of time as such a retro classic combination! A range of these beautiful and delicate canapés will complete any party fare.
It’s not a party without dessert! Be it one of our beautiful celebration cakes, or our refined and elegant dessert canapés. They will be delicious served with a crisp glass of champagne at your next event. The three we have to choose from this season are as follows,
Vanilla and Mixed Berry Tartlet: A vanilla shortbread base, filled with a berry compote and topped with a crème patisserie. These are garnished beautifully with mixed seasonal berries.
Dark Chocolate Ganache and Salted Caramel Tartlet: These are coeliac friendly and come presented in a gorgeous tempered chocolate shell.
Lemon Curd Chouquette: A gorgeous, bite sized choux bun, filled with luscious lemon curd cream and topped with a light fondant finish.
We believe between these three canapés we have covered all bases and preferences your guests may have, and will be a brilliant addition to your next party!
