Nollaig na mBan – 6th January

The Feast of the Epiphany on 6th January is celebrated all over Ireland as Nollaig na mBan which means Women’s Little Christmas. Traditionally this is the time for the women to get together and enjoy their own Christmas in peace and in recognition for all their work over Christmas time while the men hold the fort at home and handle the children and the chores.
